Weekend with the Saathoffs

March 26th was Julianne's (our niece) 8th birthday. We usually can't make it down because we have to make the trek to C.C. shortly after for Easter. Luckily my parents decided to spend Easter in Dallas, so Chris, his sister, Misty, Shamrock and I decided to head to Portland to spend the weekend with the Saathoff gang.

Saturday started with a trip to the softball field to watch Tyler and McKenzie show us their terrific T-ball skills:
McKenzie about to make her way to home plate!
Tyler rounding 3rd to score a run, too!

After the game, we were off to the house to get ready for Julianne's birthday party. We went to see "How to Train Your Dragon" with some of Julianne's closest friends. After the movie, we ate cookie cake and watched Jules open all of her gifts:

Later that night, we joined my parents at a local restaurant where my Uncle Horacio and Aunt Mary Alice offer karaoke. After a night of singing the night away, it was back to Chris' sister's home.

We had a great time with Jamie, Matt and the kids (and Misty, too!)! We don't get to spend as much time with them as we would like, but when we do, we always have a ball.

Sunday we were back on the road to Dallas. We made a quick stop in Austin to meet Ryan at Hula Hut for dinner. A great way to end an action-packed weekend full of family, friends and fun! :)

Angelque & Hunter: The Engagement Photos

I've decided to debut a few of the photos I took of my love-struck friends on March 14th. The happy couple asked if I could take their engagement photos so they could have a few to display at their May 1st wedding. I was more than happy (and honored) to fulfill their request.

Here are some of the photos for your viewing pleasure:

Aren't they an adorable couple?!?!

Thanks for being such great models, Angeleque and Hunter! You both were great to work with and I'm so happy my first official engagement photo shoot was of the two of you! :)

Tea Time!

So yesterday was the big bridal shower I helped plan for my amazing friend, Angeleque. Carolina and I have been planning this event for almost two months, so it was nice to see all of our efforts finally come to fruition yesterday. We threw a "Southern" tea party, where guests wore fancy hats, pearls and spring attire in honor of the bride-to-be's upcoming nuptials in Alabama. I have to say everything was perfect! The room looked fabulous, the food was super yummy and the guests seemed to all have a fun time. Honestly, the look on Angeleque's face when she walked in made every second of work spent on this special affair completely worth it. We hope you enjoyed it, Ang!!! Love you!

7 Years Old...

As I mentioned last week, our adorable little boy turned 7 on St. Patrick's Day. I was hoping to have a little party for him, but I was not feeling very well so I was unable to do much other than spend time with him and snap a few photos.
Shamrock Rubio at age 7 :)

Chris was a great Daddy and went to Sprinkles Cupcakes to pick up a doggie cupcake for Shamrock (and a couple for us, too). I had to stop at Target to pick up some prescription meds for my illness and, while there, picked up a candle for the birthday boy. Lucky for us, it actually matched his cupcake! How cute is that?!

Here are some candid shots of him and his yummy treat:

We're so lucky to have this little guy in our lives... :)

Chris and I wanted to wish our amazingly wonderful son, Shamrock, a very happy 7th birthday! A small party is planned for him this evening, so stay tuned for pictures of that in the coming days.

Happy birthday, Shamrock! Mommy and Daddy love you! :)

Boy Oh Boy!

This morning Chris met his sister, Misty, and her husband, JD, to find out the gender of their expected bundle of joy! Chris' mom and JD's parents were also on hand to hear the exciting news. Well, the time has arrived and the answer is-

That's right, folks! Misty and JD are having a baby boy and they've already chosen his name:
Congratulations to Misty and JD! Can't wait to meet our little nephew when he makes his debut in August!
